Kurtosys has a proprietary Unified Data Model that is the foundation for our entire platform, providing a consistent and normalized source of information for both client reporting and fund marketing solutions. The data model supports meta-data classification of both fund and investor data with a centralized client-driven taxonomy that allows for natural business relationships to be represented across the information. This holistic bottom-up approach to modeling data allows us to easily access and accurately apply data across different reports, presentations, fund illustrations and more.
Traditionally, data models have taken a ‘report centric’ approach, whereby the report or fund display drives how the data is organized and extracted. As a result, the data needs to be reconfigured each time that a new report or display type is implemented.
By taking a meta-driven, bottom up approach, Kurtosys’ Unified Data Model provides a clear roadmap for how data should be organized before it is ingested into our platform. This enables us to apply business rules and logic across different data sets and automatically scale. The result is significant reductions in – if not the complete elimination of – data implementation time and cost each time a new solution is rolled out.
